Located in the heart of the Florida Panhandle, Washington County encompasses 580 square miles including the townships of Chipley, Wausau, Vernon, Sunny Hills, Caryville, and Ebro. Washington County is within easy access on Interstate 10 to Tallahassee and Pensacola and Highway 231 to Panama City and Dothan, Alabama. 

Visitors to the Washington County can enjoy a wide range of outdoor activities including hunting, fishing, boating, camping and golfing. The county also hosts pleasurable events throughout the year, drawing in visitors from around the state of Florida, Georgia and Alabama.

Holmes Valley Heritage Day
The event includes antique tractor pulls, garden tractor pulls and even children's tractor pulls. There are also demonstrations of blacksmiths, corn shelling and corn grinding with a grist mill. Cast iron cooking pots are used for making cracklins, cooking cornbread and other delicacies relating to life in the past.


March 29
Legends and Lore
Crafters, demonstrators, exhibitors, musicians and others that will show and teach people about the history of Washington County and the surrounding area. Enjoy watching the creation of moonshine, blacksmithing, the making of bees wax candles, cutting lumber, and much more.
