The Panhandle Watermelon Festival is a summer tradition in this Washington County seat of government. Conveniently located on Interstate 10, Chipley is an easy drive from any parts of the Southeast. 

Held on the last Saturday in June, the Panhandle Watermelon Festival is a tradition in this quaint southern town. Spend the day enjoying a multitude of activities. The festival brings in the morning with a parade through downtown then moves to the Agricultural Center on Highway 90. At the Agricultural Center, experience all that the festival has to offer. There is an antique car show, a downtown street fair, clogging and square dancing, gospel and bluegrass concerts. Also, take part in horseshoe tournaments, seed spitting contests and other games for each member of the family. Watch or participate in the watermelon auction, browse the arts and crafts and enjoy a great day of wholesome family fun.
